Spectacular bright orange flowers on a plant of moderate growth. Presumably an improved version of the original as this has 3 or 4 good sized flowers instead of the 2 small ones mentioned in early references. A very free flowering sweet pea.

Bred by Eckford in 1904, when it won a silver medal as the most distinct sweet pea introduction of the year. Best grown under light shade, where the bright orange flowers contrast superbly with the green of the leaves, making a spectacular show. Gives a remarkably vibrant effect grown with a red heirloom sweet pea like King Edward VII.
Annual climber to about 6 ft.
